A photo from the same week of January in 2020, titled ‘Love Gower’. No seastate du jour this week. Instead, we have a seastate d'hier with a photo from the same period from last year.
With a little help from the cliff, and a sprinkling of imagination, an imperfectly perfect heart shape forms from this plunging wave. The day was a typical crisp and clear winters day, with a small swell and northerly light winds. The waves would reflect off this south-Gower cliff and interfere with the oncoming waves, creating wave shapes that would play and dance in the low winters light.
