seastate du jour - 08/52 - 2021

Brown seas and brown skies: a layer of dense pollution can be seen hovering over Port Talbot and Afan Forest. When the air is still and lightly blowing from south or east, the pollution trail emanating from the steelworks is clear to all. The realisation of the amount of pollution pouring out is always difficult to watch, especially during a walk on a Site of Special Scientific Interest with national importance due to its wildlife. I wanted to try and capture the moodiness of the scene, with the heavy clouds and churned up brown waters - an uninviting contrast to my recent seastate du jours.
